What people ask about solid wood
Does solid wood warp?
The wood is kiln dried before machining. Controlled drying brings the moisture to the room's equilibrium level and reduces warping and cracking, keeping the slats stable on walls and ceilings.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. Cumaru and teak, with high natural durability, go outdoors, including facades. Tauari is recommended for covered outdoor areas, such as porches and outdoor kitchens. Outdoors, always with a varnish made for exterior use.
Does it come varnished? What about maintenance?
We deliver with or without varnish. Today's varnishes offer several years of resistance and manufacturer warranty, and preventive maintenance follows the cycle of the chosen varnish. With this care, solid wood lasts more than 30 years: a lifetime.
Is there a fire-retardant option?
Yes. Solid wood can receive a fire-retardant varnish, with a fire reaction test report under the Brazilian standard NBR 9442, for projects that require this protection, such as hotels, restaurants, stores and common areas of buildings.
Does wood change color over time?
Like any material exposed to light and weather, wood oxidizes. The difference is that it renews: with sanding and new varnish, the surface looks new again. It is a finish that recovers instead of being replaced.
Why choose solid wood?
For comfort and feeling. Wood conducts little heat and helps thermal comfort, the slats break up sound reflections and make the room cozier, and it brings nature indoors: the grain, the touch and the warmth of a natural material.
Is the wood legal?
Yes. The solid wood carries a DOF, Brazil's Forest Origin Document, and is graded and selected in northern Brazil before reaching our factory in Greater Goiânia.
What is the production time?
40 to 70 days, depending on the model and quantity. The exact time comes with the quote; for export, add the shipping time.
